Intro:
The Guild of Awesomeness is a semi-casual guild, with the goal of bringing mature players together to enjoy the game. The guild members always have fun playing together, and regularly take part in quests, battlegrounds, arena, dungeon instances, and raids. Our guild tends to be relatively free of younger players, making the experience much more enjoyable for adults. (But that doesn't mean that younger players aren't welcome.)
We try to keep the operation of the guild as simple as possible. We only have a few simple rules, a minimal number of ranks, and an easy system for the guild bank. We provide a plugin pack for members to install, making the normally complicated task of keeping everyone up to date, and using the same plugins, that much easier.
Some things you WILL find in this guild:
- A friendly group of mature players.
- A small guild feel, where people know who you are, and that you can call "home", but with enough members to do anything.
- Knowledgable people willing to help you learn how to play the game better.
- A rank and guild bank system that rewards those dedicated to bettering the guild, and themselves.
- Raid progression where the officers try hard to not leave anyone out, and everyone [with reasonably sufficient gear/skill] gets a chance to run in a raid, and get some loot.
Some things you WILL NOT find in this guild:
- Class or talent requirements. While there are always certain classes or talent specs the guild may be short on (e.g. healer, tank, paladin, or warlock) everyone is encouraged to choose what fits them best, and strive to achieve their best in that role. (And we had this policy from the beginning, before WotLK's "bring the player not the class" motto.)
- Attendance requirements. It does make sense that more active players will have a better chance at participating in events where slots are in short supply, but missing out on an event is not going to get you banned from other events.
- Ultra-fast raid progression. Part of the side effects of being a semi-casual guild, without strict raiding procedures, is that progression through dungeons, and between dungeons of increasing difficulty, is slower than a hardcore raiding guild's. However, we think that this makes the experience more fun and rewarding. If your only goal is to beat every dungeon in the game as fast as possible, and get the absolute best gear at all cost, you won't enjoy your stay here.
